⛪ Churches & Faith Communities

Every member gets the message.
Not just the ones who check email.

RallyText is broadcast texting for churches and faith communities. Phone trees break at the weakest link. Email reaches 30% of your congregation on a good day. A plain text reaches everyone — and your congregation doesn't need to download a single thing.

The problem

Sixty people showed up to a locked building.

A service time change. An email sent Friday afternoon. By Sunday morning, 38% of the congregation had opened it. The other 62% drove to a locked building — including several elderly members who had made special arrangements to be there.

This isn't a story about a negligent pastor. It's a story about a communication tool that wasn't built for time-sensitive announcements to 400 people. Email wasn't designed for this. Phone trees weren't designed for this. Plain SMS was.

RallyText gives your church a dedicated line — one number your congregation saves in their contacts — and a dashboard that lets your pastor or ministry administrator reach every member with one send. Service changes, emergency closures, prayer requests, ministry announcements. One message. Every phone.

Built for how your church actually communicates

📱
Your congregation's dedicated number
Every message comes from one number — saved in members' phones as your church name. They recognize it. They open it. SMS open rates are 98%, read within 3 minutes on average.
✉️
No app for members to download
Congregation members receive plain text messages on whatever phone they already have. No account, no download, no notification permission to enable. If they have a phone, they get the message.
🗓️
Automatic service reminders
Schedule your services and events once — members get an automatic text reminder before each one. No manual send, no "I forgot to remind everyone."
👥
Reach specific ministries
Send to your whole congregation, or just the youth group, the volunteer team, the choir, or any ministry you define. Right message, right people.
💬
Two-way replies, privately
When a member replies to a broadcast, it comes to your dashboard inbox — not a group thread everyone can see. Clean, private, manageable.
📋
Roster management included
Import your congregation from a spreadsheet or add members one at a time. Members can also join by texting a keyword to your church number — simple for any age group.
Youth ministry

Youth group texts copy a parent, automatically

Child-safety communication policies are now standard in most denominations, and they all say the same thing: no adult leader should be in a private one-on-one text conversation with a minor. RallyText handles that the same way it does for youth sports teams. Every account starts with minor protection on. When a youth pastor or small-group leader sends a direct message to a student under 18, the student's parent or guardian and a second adult leader receive the same text automatically, and the message is logged in your dashboard.

Parents do not need to do anything to get the copy; they are linked to their student on the roster when the family joins. Church-wide broadcasts reach students and their linked parents alike, so a parent always knows what the congregation was told. If your congregation has no minors on the roster, support can switch the account to adults-only, and that change is recorded. The full rule set is on the Safe Sport texting page.

Ministry leaders channel

A keyword for your leadership team only

Not everything should go to the whole congregation. From their own phone, your pastor or any ministry leader can text LEADERS followed by a message to the church number, for example "LEADERS Sunday huddle 8:15", and only the Pastor and Ministry Leaders receive it. Congregants never see it. ALL followed by a message reaches everyone ("ALL service moved to 10"), and FAMILY plus a last name reaches one household. No dashboard login needed; the keywords work from a leader's regular Messages app, and the full list is on the keyword cheat sheet.

Language that fits

RallyText speaks your church's language

When you select "Church" as your org type, the entire platform adapts to your context. Your roles are Pastor, Ministry Leader, Volunteer, and Congregant — not "head coach" and "athlete." Your events are Services and Ministry Events — not "practices" and "races."

The tool fits your community. Not the other way around.

FAQ

Questions churches ask

Does our congregation need to download an app?
No. Members receive plain text messages from your church's dedicated number on whatever phone they already have. There is no account, no download, and no notification setting to manage. Anyone can reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages, and START to resume.
How do members join the church's text list?
Three ways. They text your church code by itself to the church number and answer a short two-step signup over SMS. They text a Join Keyword you put on a bulletin or flyer, for example "Text YOUTH to your church number", which can add them straight to that ministry's group. Or you import your directory from a spreadsheet and send each person an invite link. Staff can require approval before a new number receives anything, or auto-approve people who only want to follow along.
Does the parent copy apply to our youth ministry?
Yes, by default. Every RallyText account starts with minor protection on: a one-on-one message from a ministry leader to a member under 18 automatically copies a parent or guardian or a second adult leader, and the message is logged. If everyone on your roster is 18 or older, support can switch the account to adults-only, and that change is recorded for your records.

Your congregation should never show up to a locked building.

Setup takes about 10 minutes. Import your roster, pick your number, send your first text. 3-day free trial — no credit card required.
